Emergency Lighting

Emergency Lighting

It is a legal requirement that all non-domestic buildings must be kept safe at all times, even in the event of a Mains Power Failure. Therefore, all such buildings are required to have an Emergency Lighting back up system.

It is the duty of the person in charge of the building, to ensure compliance with this regulation. Further to this, these systems need to be inspected and maintained on a three monthly basis.

To ensure complete compliance, the Irish Standard IS 3217: 2013 must be adhered to. All compartments within the building must be illuminated in the event of a power failure, allowing for ease of egress, particularly so if the reason for evacuation is to escape a fire.

Total Fire Protection Ltd., Install, Service & Maintain such systems. Our engineers have many years experience in this field, and can advise as to the type of system required, should you wish to have a new system installed, or to have an existing system upgraded. As regulations and standards are regularly reviewed and updated, it can happen that even though you have an existing system in place, you may not be compliant with the latest standards.
